How to install the antenna?

1. Remove the old antenna

First of all, open the casing of the wireless router, and follow the original antenna position to find the antenna welding port on the wireless router motherboard. Since the antenna part of the wireless router is "output port + internal transmission feeder + fixed antenna", if the antenna is to be replaceable and support feeder base products, it needs to be transformed into "output port + internal transmission feeder + pluggable base" +pluggable antenna", so the most critical step is to replace the internal transmission feeder. So follow the original antenna feeder line and find the soldering point. Use an electric soldering iron to solder off the root of the original antenna feeder. Although this method is troublesome, it can ensure stable signal transmission. When soldering, pay attention to prevent static electricity from penetrating the chip on the wireless router motherboard, so use an electric soldering iron with a ground wire. If the electric soldering iron does not have a grounding wire, you need to unplug the electric soldering iron wire for passive soldering after the electric soldering iron is heated.

2. Weld the new antenna

After removing the original antenna, solder the new antenna to the motherboard of the wireless router. After the soldering is completed, check the solder joints to see if there is a short circuit. Since the base is directly connected to the transmission feeder, it is only necessary to solder the feeder from the base to the main board of the wireless router, without additional wires.

3. Fix the antenna base

After soldering the antenna connector, fix the antenna base. Since the fixing methods of the original antenna base and the new antenna base may be different, hot melt glue can be used to fix the antenna base. Of course, if the wireless router is placed in a hidden position, the fixing step can also be omitted, but it is necessary to use tape to reinforce the feeder of the antenna base to prevent false welding of the solder joints when pulled.

4. Connect the feeder

The feeder is the wire used to connect the antenna base of the wireless router and the antenna. The feeder can be selected according to where the wireless network coverage needs to be moved, but the extension distance of the feeder should not exceed 10 meters, otherwise the wireless signal transmitted by the wireless router will be attenuated very seriously. The antenna with a feeder can change the wireless network coverage. It is easy to find the welding spot of the antenna by following the original antenna's feeder. After transformation, the wireless network signal on the first floor has been greatly enhanced, almost the same as placing a wireless router alone. In addition, because the wireless network antenna is installed on the ceiling of the first floor, wireless signals can also be received on the second floor.
